Product Details
The Brazilian Redhead is a terrestrial tarantula that we don’t see anywhere near enough of. They have a beautiful reddish-orange carapace with contrasting dark legs and abdomen, which really stands out as they mature.

Generally hardy and straightforward to keep, Bumba horrida can be a little shy when young and will often retreat if disturbed. They have a moderate growth rate and can reach around 4–5 inches as adults.

For care, aim for around 24–28°C with moderate to high humidity of roughly 65–80%. Keep part of the substrate slightly damp, while allowing the surface to dry out, and provide a water dish and a suitable hide. They also appreciate a decent depth of substrate as they can be quite happy to dig themselves a little retreat.

Like other New World tarantulas, they have urticating hairs, so we recommend keeping them as a display animal rather than handling.

A great option if you’re after something a little different, with plenty of colour and character.
